Pokémon Legends: Z-A has been released worldwide on Nintendo Switch and Switch 2. That means there are more shiny Pokemon to catch. Although there aren’t any brand-new Pokemon to find in this game, there’s a stronger chance to find shinies due to the low amount to hunt for.
There is one guaranteed Shiny Pokemon that all players can get, and it’s a Side Mission that you’ll eventually encounter on the map.
Catching Shiny Mareep
To start your hunt for the one and only Shiny Mareep, go to Wild Zone 1, which is south of the city and north of Wild Zone 1. At the entrance of Wild Zone 1, you’ll run into Duve, who has a couple of Mareep with her.

Where to Find Shiny Mareep
To find the Shiny Mareep, walk into Wild Zone 1 and go where you see a pair of Mareep with an open gap in a fenced area. You’ll walk through that open gap that has water, and on the other side, there’ll be a Pichu normally.
Go to the right, and there will be a ladder to go up the building, and then again to your right, there is one more ladder to go up, where you’ll then be able to see the Shiny Mareep. A cutscene with Duve should pop up, and right after it, you can catch the unique Pokémon.

With Pokemon Legends: Z-A it has become easier to catch Shiny Pokemon as they will be saved for you. So if you were to go away and come back, the Shiny Mareep would appear.
