Jagex has announced that Old School RuneScape will finally be getting its 24th skill, Sailing, on November 19. This is the first time since the 2007 classic was released in 2013 as an alternative to RuneScape 3. Over the last couple of years, the developer has been getting the community’s input on Sailing while also doing plenty of closed and open tests.
In Old School RuneScape, Sailing will unlock new content found at sea. Players will own and upgrade their very own boats. As you level up your skill, you will reach uncharted areas. The new skill gives an opportunity to work on other skills, such as Slayer, Fishing, Crafting, and others.
In Sailing, Jagex confirmed you can own up to five boats at any time. You can have friends and NPCs join your ship. The gameplay of Sailing is simple, and you can earn XP by interacting with facilities on your boat. There are four Sailing training methods, including a hybrid of Sailing/Fishing method.
This will be just the start of Sailing in Old School RuneScape. Jagex teases that Ship PvP could be added in the future, as well as new quests, interactive NPC ships, and more.
How do you feel about Sailing coming to Old School RuneScape?
