A new Dead Rising game is in development, reports claim

A new report by MP1st claims that a new Dead Rising game is in development, taking Frank West to Hollywood. According to the outlet, the game will be a new main entry in the series and not a remaster or remake like we recently saw with Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster.

The next Dead Rising game has been reportedly in development since 2023, using the codename “Rec” and is going to feature everyone’s favorite protagonist, Frank West. This new Dead Rising project is expected to be a direct sequel to the first game.

MP1st also confidently reports that the next Dead Rising game will take place in Hollywood, primarily set in an enclosed movie studio lot. The main villain will be an extravagant and deranged film director “who forces Frank and other survivors into various trials with the goal of filming his perfect movie”.

In 2024, Capcom sent a survey to fans asking if they’d be interested in more Dead Rising Remasters after the first one was a success.

As always, we must take reports like these with a grain of salt until Capcom makes it official.
