The Super Mario Galaxy Movie Releases April 1, new trailer reveals Yoshi

Today, Nintendo held a Direct for the upcoming Super Mario Galaxy Movie, sharing news on the progress and revealing Yoshi for the first time. In the trailer, Mario and Luigi investigate would could be trouble only to find out that Yoshi has been hiding in a green pipe. 

The trailer not only gives us the first look at Yoshi in the Mario movie series, but we got to see Birdo in action, shooting eggs at Princess Peach. There were plenty of action shots provided in the two-minute trailer.

Nintendo and Illumination announced that The Super Mario Galaxy Movie has entered post-production. Animation has been fully completed, and they are working on sound design and music for the film. The movie soundtrack is being recorfded by a 70 piece orchestra. They will be doing themes from Mario Galaxy and other iconic titles in the series.

The Super Mario Galaxy Movie New Release Date

Previously, Nintendo announced The Super Mario Galaxy Movie will hit theaters on April 3rd but they now have made it earlier by two days. Expect the next Mario movie to release on April 1, 2026.
