For more than a decade, players were awaiting a response casted at Electronic Arts for a new Skate game. And it wasn’t until after the global pandemic did it respond with Skate. – a new live-service approach emphasizing on player engagement and cosmetics rather than the traditional premium release. Developer Full Circle worked actively with players via playtests to help steer what’s best for the experience.
In September this past fall, Skate officially hit storefronts across PlayStation, Xbox, and PC. and for the most part was a welcomed addition. Howbeit, there was plenty that could be added to deliver the game to the same state other installments before it could introduce. And in the following weeks Season 1 for the game came which full entered the game into its post-launch phase officially.
Now with March soon on the horizon, Season 3 is upon its players. In it comes an addition of the tutorial map dubbed ‘Isle of Grom’. But what makes this different is while the starter area was featured in the free-to-play experience, the new returning release will only be available through its Premium Pass, Full Circle confirmed in the new blog post.

“For the first month at the start of Season 3, skate.Pass Premium holders will have unlimited access to Grom. After that, we’ll be holding our official grand opening – inviting all of our San Van residents to the Isle for a very special multi-week event in April. With a new brand partner making their Grom debut, you won’t want to miss it,” the team elaborates on its approach to the season’s new map area.
Noted, the Isle of Grom will have a window for the entire player base to explore from April 14th to May 5th. However, it is only tied to the event that is hosted in that timeframe. But for most of Season 3, owners of the Premium Pass will be granted majority access to the new area. “Once the event ends, Grom access will be widely available through skate.Pass Premium, or you can grab an Isle of Grom Water Taxi day pass by using your earnable Rip Chips,” the blog explains.
