The basement in Resident Evil Requiem is a dark, deep underground part of the Rhodes Hill Care Center. Grace enters this area after leaving the upper floors of the Care Center. You rescue Emily, trapped in the Holding Cells, while exploring the basement.
Deadly zombies are lurking around every corner, waiting for you. Collect all three Joint Plugs and escape from The Girl while searching for Emily. Get your hands on a Molotov cocktail, green herb, and handgun ammo while progressing. After completing the objective, navigate to an elevator and escape back up into the Care Center.

Enter the Security Room
The main objective is to rescue Emily by finding all three Joint Plugs scattered around the Basement. Once obtained, return them to the Holding Cells generator. This allows you to open the cell doors and escape.
As soon as you gain control of Grace, follow the initial corridor until you find a Security Room. Go through the tunnel and approach the corpse to get your hands on the staff member’s last words. Keep progressing and grab the green herb from your left.
Enter the Bunkroom (First Joint Plug)
Get inside the room filled with computers on your right. This is your safe zone with a typewriter and an item box. Go all the way to the Furnace and head to the east to find the Holding Cells. This area is filled with multiple zombies, so approach them while in stealth mode to inject them with the hemolytic injector.
Find the power distributor nearby that needs three Joint Plugs. Collect it from here and pass through the passage to encounter The Girl. You don’t need to solve a puzzle or backtrack to another room to get this first plug.
You can get this from the Holding Cells after a short walk from the Basement entrance. You need to hide from here, so get ready to take cover while navigating towards the power distributor in the south. Interact with it to insert the Joint Plug, allowing you to enter the Bunkroom.
Enter the Boiling Room To Get Socket Wrench
Collect the Molotov cocktail recipe from the table and approach the bed to get blood and six handgun ammo. Get your hands on a Mr. Raccoon statue from the TV and rare metal from inside the locked locker. After looting everything, return to the basement entrance.
Go to the northeast side and insert the joint plug in the power distributor. Move the trolley here to this area to get inside the Boiling Room. Be aware of the electrified puddles inside the Boiler Room because they can shock you. Make sure to remove the Joint Plug from the earlier distributor to turn the power off.
Return to the Boiler Room and look for a wooden crate blocking a gap in a fence. This one is located on a wall close to the room interior. Push the crate aside to open up the fence gap and squeeze through it. You get into the other section of the Boiling Room.
Find a red toolbox or square socket tool and obtain the Square Socket Wrench. Picking it up triggers the appearance of The Girl, so get ready to escape. You hear The Girl, attacking corpses or approaching, so use the empty bottle to draw her way and go back through the gap.
Get Second Joint Plug
Make your way back towards the Security Room area to get rid of The Girl. The second Joint Plug is found in the room beyond the Furnace. You need to use the Joint Plug to open the passage. If you left the Holding Cells plug at the power distributor, go back to pick it up.
Get inside the large room and collect the security guard’s report. Defeat the zombie in this room with your gun or use the hemolytic Injector. Approach the puzzle in the small office area and solve it. The correct solution for this puzzle is 60 right, 40 left, 80 right. Go to the forklift to get your hands on the second Joint Plug, along with other items like blood and an empty bottle.
Enter the Processing Room
Go through the tunnel to enter the workshop. Walk to the Collection Pool power panel, which is inside the circular area in the basement. Approach the power distributor in the Collection Pool room. Take out the Square Socket Wrench and use it on the panel cover to unlock it.
Insert both Joint Plugs into the two empty slots, power up the lights, and open a doorway at the far. Walk straight toward the newly opened corridor beyond the Collection Pool to reach an area blocked by a large floor gap.
Turn on the crouch mode and go through the fan vent to get around the gap, allowing you to go deeper into the basement. After you crawl through the vent shaft, you appear in front of a ladder. Climb up this ladder to enter the Processing room. This is a big area with blood, machinery, and another Joint Plug.
Get The Third Joint Plug
Make sure to collect the key items here before trying to pick up the Joint Plug in this room. Go to the far end of the Processing room and pick up the Forklift Key from a corpse. Use this key on the nearby forklift to move it and open a blocked pathway. Collect crucial items like the Hip Pouch inventory upgrade and the Care Center Basement map from this newly accessible office room.
Make sure to use the key to go to the northwest side of the forklift. Go past The Girl and activate the power distributor to turn on the lights. Make your way to the left after moving back to the entrance.
Go all the way back into the Processing to find a typewriter to save the progress. Rotate the spindle to drain the blood pool and go into the pool to get to the opposite side. Defeat the enemies that get closer to you while navigating.
Collect the Molotov cocktail, 10 handgun ammo, and 15 handgun ammo from the walls. Once the processing stops, use the ladder to climb up and get the third Joint Plug from the south.
Rescue Emily
Approach the typewriter and go through the vent nearby to get back to the Collection Pool. Approach the Collection & Testing lever to pull it, allowing you to drain the pool. Obtain the hemolytic injectors from here and use the elevator.
Loot the empty injector and defeat the zombies in the Holding Cells, Furnace, and Bunkroom. The Girl spawns here at the forklift to kill you. Approach the Holding Cells power distributor to insert all joint plugs. You need to quickly run to the elevator on the east side to free to rescue Emily.
You can’t use a weapon while holding Emily, so run past the zombies and get inside the elevator. Hit the button of the elevator and follow the prompt to escape the basement. A cutscene triggers here, showcasing you and Emily back inside the Rhodes Hill Chronic Care Center.
