We are not even halfway through 2026, and there are already plenty of high-quality games to choose from. Yes, we have the AAA titles like PRAGMATA, Marathon, and Resident Evil Requiem. However, there have been just as many great indie games that may be overlooked.
We are going to list the three indie games that you should consider purchasing in 2026.
#3 – Demon Tides

Fabraz released Demon Tides earlier this year, the sequel to Demon Turf. It’s a 3D Platformer that features an open world to explore. It’s a great platformer that is welcoming to newcomers and challenging for veterans.
Demon Tides is available on PC via Steam for $25, and it’s a no-brainer if you want to enjoy a fresh 3D action platformer. Demon Tides will eventually come to consoles. A Nintendo Switch version is expected to come soon.
#2 – Super Meat Boy 3D

It seems 3D Platformers are the way to go in 2026, as our next recommendation is Super Meat Boy 3D. If you remember the Xbox 360 Arcade classic, this game will feel nostalgic and even better. Sluggerfly released Super Meat Boy 3D in late March for Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox Series, PS5, and PC.
It’s another solid price as the average price is $25 on the online storefronts, including Steam. What we will say is that Super Meat Boy 3D is challenging and may cause you to rage at times, but it’s an overall solid game.
#1 – MOUSE: P.I. For Hire

Leading the list is a no-brainer. MOUSE: P.I. For Hire from Fumi Games is as unique as you’ll get from an indie developer this year. The first-person shooter comes with the rubber-hose style visuals, and its gameplay is super smooth when you are in battles in any scenario. It’s led by a great cast of characters, including Jack Pepper, voiced by Troy Baker.
MOUSE: P.I. For Hire is available to play now for Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox Series, PlayStation 5, and PC via Steam. At its $30 price tag, digitally, it’s a steal. Even its physical Mouseberg Edition is a great deal if you are a collector.
You can’t go wrong with any of these three indie games in 2026. There will be many other quality indie titles releasing this year, but if you need to play something different, try these out.
