Last week, Nintendo revealed Star Fox is coming to Nintendo Switch 2 on June 25, 2026. It’s a redesign of Star Fox 64 with upgraded character and level design. The dialogue has also seen an improvement alongside cinematics.
It has been discovered that Star Fox on Switch 2 will feature amiibo support. The Japanese website for Nintendo reveals the amiibo support, but not in an obvious spot.
Star Fox amiibo rewards
Scanning a compatible amiibo in Star Fox will provide in-game rewards. Players will receive special emblems and backgrounds. These can be placed on your Battle Banner, which is shown during online matches. For now, the compatible amiibo with this game are Fox, Falco, and Wolf from the Super Smash Bros. amiibo line.

Nintendo has not revealed any new amiibo for the new Star Fox game coming to Switch 2. That could always change, as they don’t seem hesitant to release new amiibo for new games. Normally, amiibo don’t provide too much in-game content as we see in Yoshi and the Mysterious Book. However, in Star Fox it looks like this could be content you can show off to others online.
Are you looking forward to Star Fox?
Thanks, Nintendo Everything
