Activision and Infinity Ward have been slowly teasing the next Call of Duty game, planned to be released this year. It has already been leaked to be Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4. A blurred version of its cover art has already surfaced thanks to billbil-kun via Twitter.
According to insider NateTheHate, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 will be launching on Nintendo Switch 2. This came from a response to someone on Reddit suggesting this should be the first Call of Duty title on Switch 2. Nate says “Yes” to the Reddit user.
Call of Duty has been expected to release on the Switch platform eventually due to an agreement Microsoft made with Nintendo to at least bring the series to the platform for 10 years. This would be the first game since that agreement.
Activision also confirmed in recent weeks that the next Call of Duty is not being developed for PlayStation 4 or Xbox One. This looks to be the first Call of Duty game that will not focus on the previous generation consoles. An announcement for the addition of Switch 2 could come as soon as next week, with Summer Game Fest happening among other events.
