Earlier last week, news broke through a panel listing for Darksiders presentation which detailed that a new game in the franchise is to be in development by Airship Syndicate, the other half of Vigil Games following the closure of the studio back in 2013. Now today as part of THQ Nordic’s second of third surprise titles to be revealed prior to this year’s E3, the publisher officially announced the leaked title to be Darksiders: Genesis.

Rather than a direct successor of the 2018 title which dropped just this November, Genesis is a spin-off, Diablo-like RPG where the player will be in control of not only one, but two characters in this new title; playing as both Darksiders’ War and the inevitable Darksiders 4 protagonist, Strife.

From what was dug out from the reveal trailer only gives a taste for the gameplay of the two protagonists with no further detail as the series enters this new genre of games. Darksiders: Genesis is said to be playable at E3 later next week for those who will be attending the approaching event.

Darksiders: Genesis is listed for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and both Steam & Stadia for PC.
