Upon the collection of announcements that came from Ubisoft’s press conference at E3 last month, one that some might not have predicted was the spin-off Rainbow Six Quarantine title. With only a cinematic trailer to announce the new game, many already knew the basis of the title when reflecting back to the Outbreak mode that debuted for Siege a over a year prior.
Ubisoft did announce that the standalone title is projected to release sometime next year in 2020, however, a specific time timeframe for fans to expect the three-player title was not disclosed following the reveal. But according to the recent financial call for the publisher, the game is coming a lot sooner than we might have expected for a side project.
In the call, Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot announced that Quarantine will release sometime during the last financial quarter for 2019: Q4 runs from January 1st to March 31st 2020. Although, the game is now aimed to release in the first 1/3rd of next year, Ubisoft Montreal has yet to reveal gameplay for the coming title. As the game does hold some similar characteristics to the previous Outbreak mode, fans would appreciate to see what new additions or changes have come to the side title since the initial mode released last year.
Another interesting thing with Ubisoft is seeing that the publisher is planning to drop the game around the same time as other flagship titles that have slated release dates for early 2020. Gods & Monsters carving a late-February release following with Watch Dog: Legion following in March, there isn’t a lot of room that Ubisoft could use for the game to drop. Possibly sometime in January or the first week of February would seem the most plausible to happen.
