At the start of June earlier this year, a major leak emerged which revealed not only the coming Shadowkeep expansion for Destiny 2, but also shared that cross save is planned to be implemented for the 2017 first-person shooter at some point in the coming months. Following the supposed leaks, developer Bungie officially revealed the next content add-on for the game and properly detailed that cross save will be arriving in mid-September for all supported platforms.

Now according to the game’s official Twitter, the initially scheduled September 13th update to introduce cross save for the sequel has been altered: now players can transfer their data from platforms later this month, next Wednesday to be exact.

Following the link provided in the tweet, the website details how to properly access your saves on any platform: “link your accounts”, “choose your characters”, “profit!”

However, upon the idea that cross save will be coming to Destiny 2, fans then got their hopes up that this will potentially lead to the chances of cross play to be added following next week’s addition. But in the end, that is not the case for the title currently. As even the marketed title despite being one of the biggest advertised games for November-scheduled Google Stadia, the game won’t even support the functionality with the service.

Are you planning on returning to Destiny 2 through a different platform?

Destiny 2 is out now for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
