Last month, a surge of news surrounding the anticipated Plants Vs. Zombies title that publisher Electronic Arts has planned to release this Fall abruptly leaked which detailed the game’s name and potential platforms the game will be available for. However, at the time of the emerging information, no release date was issued for the unannounced game.
It wasn’t until earlier today actually that a ResetEra user listed the game’s scheduled launch along with the Nintendo Switch version of Overwatch which both share the same date. Electronic Arts instead of covering up the seeping information instead embraces it by officially announcing Plants Vs. Zombies: Battle for Neighborville which also confirms the next installment’s release date for October 18th.
Although the game will not be fully released until mid-October, fans of the series can take advantage of the pairing announcement of the Founder’s Edition which sneaks players in to play the game six weeks ahead of it’s official release date.
The Battle for Neighborville Founder’s Edition is live now for purchase on both Xbox One and PC via Origin for $29.99. This early access initiative will allow players to test out the waters of the game regarding returning and new additions that will be included in the full game. Today marking week one of six, founders will be able to sample Turf Takeover PvP mode on Town Center and be rewarded the Fire Defender customizable reward. You can view the full schedule below:

Founders for the October-scheduled title will also be granted access to a dedicated Discord channel to share their experience with other players as well as the team directly to better the game’s experience which will arrive in the approaching month. In the Q & A segment of the announcement, the developer shares their encouragement to share your experience online and live-stream it if you decide to become a founder. To make things even more tempting to purchase ahead, players progression will carry over from the Founder’s Edition to the full game when it launches.
Plants Vs. Zombies: Battle for Neighborville will be available for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC. The previously rumored Nintendo Switch was not mentioned in the title’s announcement.
