Looking at the current date, it has been roughly four years since the release of Rocksteady Studios’ Batman Arkham Knight, and while the team is secretly developing their next unnamed project, developer Warner Bros. Montreal is brewing up some hype for the team’s unannounced title this past weekend. In celebration of DC Comics’ Batman reaching 80 years since the character’s creation back in 1939, the Canadian developer shared their participation with an image of the iconic bat signal in a recent tweet.

However, if you notice closely, there are hidden images that flicker in less than a second at least four times during the clip.

Involved fans swiftly dug up the four images to be encrypted symbols that teases towards the game’s next project. As for what these symbols truly stand for has yet to be shared what they resemble as of yet. Regardless, this looks to be pointing towards the alleged Court of Owls game that has been mentioned numerous time within this past year.

Reflecting on a previously redacted tweet from Warner Bros. Montreal Assistant Producer, one of the symbols does hold a likeness towards the crest on the back of her shirt referencing the Court of Owls. Some users have also considered another other these unknown symbols to carry some similarities to the mark for the League of Shadows.

To make things more exciting, today the developer on Twitter shared a short GIF giving a clearer image of all four images with the caption reading “Capture the Knight / Cape sur la nuit.” The second phrase after being put through an online translator reads “Cape on the Night:” since the developer being based in Montreal, it makes sense for a French version of the title as well. Which gives full confidence that the team is almost ready to share what this new game will be fully knowing it is set in the Batman universe once again.

What some fans might have glanced over is the now-deleted tweet by Court of Owls creator/writer Scott Snyder. Responding to the initial tease by Warner Bros. Montreal with “#bewarethecourtofowls” hashtag.

Ultimately, there is enough evidence to guess we could be getting a proper reveal in the very near future. Looking at the Batman Arkham marketing from previous titles, we could the supposed announcement at this week’s PlayStation State of Play . However, this being Warner Bros. Montreal and not Rocksteady Studios, that might not be the case. Warner Bros. has done marketing previously with Microsoft for Middle-Earth: Shadow of War back in 2017, so possibly at this tomorrow’s abruptly announced Inside Xbox presentation also.

What are your thoughts on the current motion around this teased Batman title?
