It looks that Hitman developer IO Interactive is prepping for the next big project ahead of the team as it was announced today that the studio came to an agreement with publisher Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment for the company to back this new unannounced project. The two parties making it official that this new agreement between the two companies will help both publish and distribute a new game from IO Interactive.

As for what this new project might be was not mentioned with specifics if it would be a new IP or another installment for an already existing series. Warner Bros. President David Haddad shares on this new deal:

We’re very pleased to continue our relationship with the talented team at IO Interactive. IO Interactive has a longstanding legacy of creating iconic games, and we’re looking forward to partnering on this next endeavor to bring a new console and PC gaming experience to players globally.

IO Interactive has already worked under Warner Bros. with the studio’s current Hitman 2 which released last year and the Hitman HD Enhanced Collection which released at the beginning of the year: so a new game either it being Agent 47 or not would be expected from the Danish developer ultimately.

Giving a small hitch on what this unnamed title could possibly be might have already been teased from the recent opening of IOI Malmö back in January. Upon IO Interactive settling a new branch in Sweden, job listings for the studio revealed to involve positions for online play with a Multiplayer Programmer and Senior Multiplayer Programmer up for hire at the time. So unlike the current Hitman titles from IO Interactive, this new project might potentially be a online-focused experience.

What would you like to see from IO Interactive with this new partnership for their next project?
