Hardly two weeks ago the Fortnite fanbase went arise as the servers for the game were severed leaving players unable to connect to an open lobby for the popular battle royale. Following a set of leaks among the battle pass trailer for the then-alleged Chapter 2, Fortnite did eventually return after two days of going dark with a new ma and plenty of ways to boost up your rank.
Inching towards the Halloween season this Thursday, Epic Games officially launched the Fortnitemares event which unloads a bevy of spooky in-game items and other themed exclusives only available during this timed experience. Starting today the event will be live until next Monday on November 4th.
Upon experiencing the festive makeover that the new map has received, players can take on the ‘Storm King challenge’ where anyone who drops on the map can go against the personified beast of the Storm as a boss hosted on the map. Players will need a squad of four to fight through waves of the undead before facing head on against the Storm King. A new game mode limited to the event titled ‘Mansion of Power’ is a free-for-all where players must keep a five-consecutive winstreak to come out victorious.
Of course, this wouldn’t be any decorated event without a slew of timed loot for players to unlock specialized items like the Storm Sail umbrella for finishing off the event’s boss, weapon skins, and costumes to dress you character in.
In other festive events through the gaming spectrum, Ubisoft revealed the Doktor’s Curse event which introduces a pseudo-hide and seek mode for Rainbow Six Siege.
Fortnite is out now for PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, Android, and iOS.
