Rockstar Games back in September announced that the developer will be opening their own home-grown PC Launcher, the Rockstar Games launcher. Advertised with a free copy of Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, the launcher quickly grew especially with speculation that the PC version of last year’s Red Dead Redemption 2 was expected to arrive following the storefront’s debut that same day. And fans were right to believe so as the port was announced just weeks after.

It was almost certain that this would be a one-time stop for the 2018 Game of the Year nominee for the PC side of the industry, but Rockstar Games has proven that to be not the case. Just last week, the developer announced that the game will also be arriving to Steam next Friday.

Those who have already entered the Five Counties on mouse & keyboard will have to reside to the respected version on Rockstar’s launcher as there is no word if any form of cross platform progression has been confirmed following the Steam announcement recently. The same can also be said for cross-play too seeing that there is yet to be a statement from Rockstar upon reporting the reveal. Throughout different storefronts on the same platform, there is a chance of seeing the two features being implemented at a later time, as we have already seen with the Halo: Reach.

Despite the lacking amount of detail that surrounds the announcement disregarding the already echoed features already unique to the currently available PC version of the game, it should be noted that Photo Mode is only exclusive to the platform with a selection of stickers, filters, and frames to choose from. Those planning on picking up the PC version should also be made aware that the space required minimum is rounded around 150 GB as well.

Do you already own Red Dead Redemption 2 on PC?

Red Dead Redemption 2 is out now for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
