This year in 2020 regarding the Kingdom Hearts franchise looks to be very occupied with new content arriving. One being the upcoming Re:Mind DLC for the current installment Kingdom Hearts 3 which is set to arrive pretty soon. Atop of the story expansion, the Kingdom Hearts 1.5 + 2.5 ReMix & Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue are also set to arrive on Xbox One later this year as well.

Now according to a new Q&A run by Square Enix and Director Tetsuya Nomura, there are more titles expected to be revealed this year also. Thanks to Twitter user @_KH_ENHLISH who translated the entire discussion, we discover that these unnamed titles are actually arriving “surprisingly soon.”

You can view the entire thread below:

When treading to the discussion of future projects regarding the Kingdom Hearts IP, Nomura discloses to have adopted two new teams which one is said to reveal a title in the very near future. Even more, Nomura states that there will be a surprise announcement from the ‘KH UX’ team sometime tomorrow.

Expanding to other additional content that will arrive to Kingdom Hearts 3, Nomura clarifies that the team only intends for Re:Mind to be the only story expansion. Citing that development has already commenced on the next game, and that the menu for the approaching DLC sits as the foundation for what is to come for the series. Of course, Nomura is discussing about the mainline installment and not the supposed forthcoming reveal.

The game Director also talks a bit about the unannounced Final Mix which has yet to be announced unlike prior installments. He tells that there is no current plans for the studio to pursue the complete iteration of Kingdom Hearts 3 nor a physical version of that edition either. However, he does state to reconsider when the time comes for new hardware which is on the horizon for the end of this year.

What are your predictions for these unannounced Kingdom Hearts titles?

Kingdom Hearts 3 is out now for Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
