As we are more than familiar with the events that took place this week, Microsoft hosted its Inside Xbox online presentation to showcase some titles and how they would perform on the approaching Xbox Series X. However, Sony on the other hand was reported to be pursuing a similar show to disclose more news on the competing PlayStation 5.

The speculation spawned from Jason Schreier as the Bloomberg Tech writer shared that he hear whispers for the supposed showcase to still be in a ”few more weeks.” But despite the enlightening possibility, fans continue to draw impatient as there were hopes to see more information seeing how generous Microsoft has been with the forthcoming Xbox. Now in a new discussion, Schreier elaborates more on when we can expect to hear from Sony.

When speaking on the Press Start podcast this week, Schreier explains that Sony’s roadmap lands to deliver new information for the PlayStation 5 for June in the coming month.

As far as I know, right now, Sony is still on track to do at least one thing by early June let’s say. Or by mid-June, let’s say.

Following the statement picking up traction, many users online interpreted Schreier to suggest that Sony will be hosting an event of the like to properly disclose these new details. However, Scheier later had to clarify what he initially stated since what he said grew out of proportion from what he intended. On ResetEra, Schreier told that “there will be something PS5-related happening by mid-June (unless it’s bumped because of COVID-19).

“I didn’t say ‘the PS5 event’ because I don’t know how many things they’re doing.” Regardless of the how the word was taken from Schreier, this does strengthen hopes to potentially see more in the following month. While he does not disclose an approximate date, Schreier does share a structured timeframe which does help maintain some order for the time being.

Will you be able to wait another month until Sony shares more on the PlayStation 5?

PlayStation 5 is scheduled to ship in holiday 2020.
