Ubisoft has taken a lot of heat lately with some of its recent releases of Assassin’s Creed Shadows and XDefiant, and with the company’s overall value lowering. They are still planning to support the Rainbow Six franchise with Rainbow Six Siege X, and now, there are reports of a new game in development.
According to Insider Gaming’s Tom Henderson, Ubisoft is developing a new turn-based tactics game that is set in the same universe as Rainbow 6 Siege.
The outlet reports the new Rainbow 6 Siege game is likely a couple of years away, but it will aim to release on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, PC, and maybe even Nintendo Switch 2. Tom Henderson also goes on to say that his sources mentioned the game would have a top-down view similar to Diablo 4.
Whatever the new Rainbow 6 turn-based tactics game is, the gameplay loop could be similar to how Rainbow 6 Siege is where players select different operators.
Out of all of Ubisoft’s series, Rainbow 6 is among the biggest IPs they own, along with Assassin’s Creed. Recently, Ubisoft and Tencent established a new gaming subsidiary with a recent investment granting Tencent 25% ownership.
