Over the span of less than a week, many users online have been on quite the rollercoaster of emotions revolving around Xbox Game Pass. It was disclosed recently that Xbox Game Pass will be revisioning its three tiers; Xbox Game Pass Ultimate to receive a new $30 price tag. While many argued the reasoning for it, Microsoft responded that “[We want] to provide them with more of what they’re asking for.”

As the Xbox image continues to face more heat, rumors began swirling of the platform completely defaulting and severing efforts on its next-generation console. Despite the credibility of the leaker, Microsoft denounced the claim. “We are actively investing in our future first-party consoles and devices designed, engineered and built by Xbox. For more details, the community can revisit our agreement announcement with AMD,” it told Windows Central in a statement.

And now while the looming change for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate’s pricing is aiming to take place next month in November, there has been an update that Microsoft has issued to pre-existing members. In that, it is to honor the original pricing for its users. At least, it will be in select regions according to The Verge.

“Our recent Game Pass update remains unchanged. Current subscribers in certain countries will continue renewing at their existing price for now, in line with local requirements. We’ll provide advance notice before price adjustments take effect in these countries,” head of Xbox communications Kari Perez told the outlet.

Additionally, users were also sent an email which corroborated this confirmation as well. “At this time, these increases will only affect new purchases and will not affect your current subscription for the market in which you reside, as long as you are on an auto- recurring plan. Should you choose to cancel your plan and repurchase, you will be charged at the new current rate. If for any reason there may be changes to your existing account, we will notify you at least 60 days in advance and you will have the option to cancel or change your subscription plan at any time.”

Are you surprised with this response from Microsoft?
