Among Us To Ship For Xbox, PlayStation This Holiday On December 14

While Among Us swelled to being one of the most impressive releases in 2020 from the scale of the team at InnerSloth, projections for where the studio will head is certainly to be considered. As you might presume, console is the new aim for the game. However, one developer previously cautioned hope when figuring out how to translate the project to controller without a simple answer to type-based chat.

It was later that the game received a Nintendo Switch version out of the blue. The handheld console hybrid does feature a touch screen so it passes for that release. Thankfully, InnerSloth went on to deliver a quick chat feature for users to send instant quips to users without having to stop and type.

More interesting is when the developer revealed a new version is underway for both Xbox alongside PlayStation later on for 2021. Noted, Xbox Game Pass owners can nab the game when it launches, Microsoft added. On Thursday, InnerSloth announced the title is arriving to both consoles this December.

“We’re excited to share the big news that Among Us is coming to Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and with Xbox Game Pass on December 14!” InnerSloth Community Director Victoria Tran wrote on Xbox Wire. She continues elsewhere on PlayStation Blog, “Welcome to the crew, PlayStation! At long last, we have a release date.

“On December 14, Among Us will be launching on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. Traverse through space and attempt to hold your spaceship together alongside your other crewmates, but beware – there could be Impostors on board. Or maybe… you’re the Impostor?! There’s only one way to find out.”

Additionally, Tran follows-up to reiterate on the announcement for the PlayStation versions specifically. In that, users on either PlayStation 4 or PlayStation 5 will received specialized Ratchet & Clank cosmetics. Cross-play is also confirmed for the versions. Since every platform that supports Among Us offers cross-platform play, it is likely the Xbox port will do the same.
