Last week was a very fulfilling moment for Apex Legends as fans were revealed the next set of plans for the ongoing battle royale. During the annual EA Play Live showcase, Respawn Entertainment announced that cross-platform play will officially be arriving to the 2019-released title later this fall. Even more, the developer announced that Nintendo Switch and Steam users will also be expecting support for the feature with respected versions underway as well.

However, one platform that we understand to be underway is mobile. While Respawn Entertainment nor publisher Electronic Arts has disclosed that the growing, online-only title will be coming to smart phones officially, it was disclosed through a previous earnings call that the firm looks to be shipping the game through a soft release in China back in May 2019. Now there is an update on the matters of coming port.

Discovered by @ApexLatest, Electronic Arts CEO Andrew Wilson shares that Apex Legends for mobile is aimed to arrive by the end of 2020 at the earliest.

“Mobile in particular is a category that spans across all of that,” Wilson shares in the webcast discussion. “We’ve talked about Apex Legends in soft launch by the end of this year.” The Apex-focused adds in separate tweet that the publisher aims to ship Apex Legends globally for mobile device in the first quarter of 2021.

While he does not directly disclose what region the game will launch in, it is presumed he implied the tested region for China. Adding onto the matters of Chine, Electronic Arts still as of reporting has disclosed which company it has partnered with in handling the mobile launch of Apex Legends in the region. Given room to predict, it is likely Tencent or possibly NetEase is involved with the project.

Elsewhere in Apex Legends new, Respawn Entertainment announced the next limited-time event for the battle royale, Lost Treasure. You can read the full announcement by heading here.
