Arma Comes To Xbox With Arma Reforger, Also Available On PC

The Arma series remains on of the most prolific entires on PC over the past decade. With releases like Arma 3 that shipped back in 2013, the IP later went on to birth inspiration for DayZ and the very popular battle royale PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds. Looking ahead, it is possible more is to come from this too. The battle royale creator Brendan Greene formed PlayerUnknown Productions to work on a new project.

But, only the latter has console players truly experienced. When it comes to the core Arma franchise, primary controller users has yet to get their hands on the series. However, a leak this week did nod to the chances of the version coming to commercial hardware – at least Xbox that is. On Reddit, user u/PlzDontBlame leaked an image of Arma Reforger which lists an Xbox version of the game.

Now on Tuesday, Bohemia Interactive has revealed Arma Reforger confirming its Xbox release alongside the expected PC version as well. The game is now available for Xbox Game Preview and Steam Early Access.

The game also introduces some aspect of game modding to the game with player-created assets available to download including the console version. “Powered by Bohemia Interactive’s proprietary Enfusion engine, Arma Reforger showcases exhilarating gameplay while offering powerful modding tools that enable players to create assets, design scenarios, change gameplay mechanics, and alter battles in real time.”

Currently, there are two modes available in Arma Reforger: Capture – a strategic domination-like game mode, and Game Master – a in-game modifier allowing users to “create various scenarios, manage events as they unfold, and guide other players through curated experiences.”
