
This past fall, Ubisoft rolled out with the first entry in the Assassin’s Creed series for roughly three years. In our review for the game, we said “Assassin’s Creed Mirage isn’t perfect and it doesn’t shake up the formula to deliver a different experience. But it’s still a fun experience as some improvements have been made.” Of course, there is more titles on the way for the franchise.
In one string of announcements, three projects were revealed: Codename Red, Codename Jade, and Codename Hexe. Overall, reports do point towards over a handful of new projects are in development at Ubisoft. Additionally, the first of the trio is Red – the next flagship set in feudal Japan. From a prior earnings call, Ubisoft confirmed a release date is paved for this fiscal year.
Now in a new update from Ubisoft via X, the post confirms the official title for Assassin’s Creed Codename Red. In that, it is now Assassin’s Creed: Shadows. A proper reveal will take place this week on May 15th.
What’s more, details surrounding the project ahead of its reveal appeared to leak online. Via the YouTube info box for the trailer, Assassin’s Creed: Shadows is expected to release November 15th. Adding on, known insider @shinobi602 on ResetEra indicates it is only on current-generation Xbox & PlayStation consoles. Even the pricing for the game is also online from dataminer @Ubisoft_Frax as well as the DLC too.
Prior, Ubisoft has confirmed the title on another codenamed Assassin’s Creed project. In that, the upcoming ancient China mobile title Assassin’s Creed Codename Jade has simply adopted the name now titled ‘Assassin’s Creed Jade’. You can read the full report by heading here.
