Call of Duty 2017 will 'take Call of Duty back to its roots'

During Activision Blizzard’s Q4 Earnings Call, Activision confirmed Call of Duty 2017 will take Call of Duty back to its roots. We haven’t heard what specifically will be in Call of Duty 2017 such as the setting, for example World War now I am not indicating that the setting will be WWII or WWI, but we’ve seen the success with Battlefield 1. This years Call of Duty will be developed by Sledgehammer this time and there were rumors from back in November that the next title will be called ‘Stronghold’.
Activision usually reveals the new Call of Duty titles sometime between April-May, with the game’s launch in November.
