The Call of Duty franchise is one of the most recognized ongoing series globally. So it made sense that its battle royale, Call of Duty: Warzone, would receive the mobile treatment. Pre-registering went live in fall 2022. By November the following year, Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile amassed over 45 pre-registered players and was still months from releasing.
And the game has been going on since its launch in spring 2024. Other mainline entries shipped with both Black Ops 6 & Black Ops 7 as well as the recent announcement of the live-action film at Paramount Studios being greenlit to hit theaters in 2028. However, there is a bump on this road concerning the mobile release. It is to sunset its servers in 2026.
On Friday April 17th, Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile will shutdown its servers. This will make the game inaccessible once the servers are shut off for good. Real currency purchases were already shuttered in May 2025, and now the title will be fully shut down this week. “Prior to the game’s removal from stores in May of 2025, we announced several service changes to Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile, including an end to delivering new seasonal content and gameplay updates, and the discontinuation of social features and in-app purchases using real currency,” Activision explained for the game closing.
“We are deeply grateful to the community that supported Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile and to the developers who brought the experience to life. Player passion and feedback continue to shape the future of the Call of Duty franchise, and we look forward to delivering meaningful seasonal content and updates to Call of Duty: Mobile,” it added. The support page also discloses that any refunds of its COD Points will not be issued for those who still have yet to spend it.
“We recommend redeeming any unused COD Points in-game towards available content in the Store before April 17, 2026. Once the servers are shut down, any unused COD Points will no longer be accessible. Refunds are not available for previously purchased in-game content or unused COD Points.”
