Although Call of Duty: Warzone has maintained much of its momentum, the battle royale, now-extraction experience is even more since the launch of Warzone 2.0. Not only does it carry over content from main multiplayer to Warzone, it is to also offer cross-buy support for the forthcoming mobile version too. It has been nearly a full year since pre-registration for Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile went live.

While cross-platform/progression support is a norm for most live-service games, this was not the case when Warzone 2.0 was revealed. It was noted that purchases and skins would not carry over to the newer experience. Even more, the original Warzone actually shuttered entirely back in September just this fall as well.

In celebration of the 20th anniversary for Call of Duty, Activision shared some milestones pertaining to Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile. That revealing over 45 million players already pre-registered for the coming smart phone game. Additionally, a spring release in 2024 is also planned for Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile.

A few months later in Spring 2024, prepare to join over 45 million fans who have already pre-registered Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile and prepare your squad to drop into two painstakingly-recreated Battle Royale maps – Verdansk and Rebirth Island – along with shared progression and Battle Pass integration with Modern Warfare III and Call of Duty: Warzone, and an authentic multiplayer experience including maps like Shipment and Shoot House to complement Battle Royale.

The milestone for Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile comes as no surprise tailing behind the main version for Call of Duty: Warzone. Becoming a quick install for millions since it costs nothing to download, the game swiftly climbed in downloads with the first month welcoming 50 million users. And by the late summer, 100 million users were dropping into the battle royale.

Similarly, this is a shared trend with the franchise on mobile as well. Tencent Games’ Call of Duty: Mobile during its height outperformed even Mario Kart Tour. Taking things even further, the smart phone title went on to entertain more than 250 million users, another report shared. You can read the full report by heading here.
