For these past handful of years, developer Capcom has remained adamant on shipping remakes for the beloved Resident Evil franchise. Not too long ago, the Japanese firm launched both remakes for Resident Evil 2 & Resident Evil 3 on Nintendo Switch via cloud. And not to mention the March release of Resident Evil 4 Remake earlier this year.

The title did earn enough praise that it earned some nominations at The Game Awards. In that, it received Game of the Year and Best Audio Design. Additionally, that is not all for the new game. Capcom just confirmed this week it is also coming to PlayStation VR 2. Furthermore, a port for iPhone 15 Pro &  iPhone 15 Pro Max is also coming later in December too.

Looking ahead, Capcom at the recent PlayStation partner awards in Japan confirmed that more remakes are being tackled for a new release. Resident Evil 4 remake director Yasuhiro Anpo answers with a simple ”yes” when asked, which IGN has translated.

“We’ve released three remakes so far and they have all been received very well. Since it allows a modern audience to play these games, it is something I am happy to do as someone that loves these older games, and we want to continue doing more. What game we will remake in the future is something that we would like to announce in the future, so please look forward to it.”

Anpo adds, “When developing a new game, there is no way to know what will be received well by the players, which makes it difficult. In the case of a remake, there are already players that have played the original, which I think can be seen as an advantage. We are very grateful to users that are vocal about their opinion. It allows us to develop with the player’s opinion in mind.”

Previously, Capcom did lightly press on the matter previously via an exchange during a shareholders meeting. And while not confirming as such like Anpo, the firm did share it was evaluating how to do so to draw a larger audience. You can read the full report by heading here.
