Capcom expects to sell 10 million copies of Street Fighter 6

We are less than a month away from the release of Street Fighter 6 and Capcom has set quite the expectation when it comes to the sales of the game. In a recent interview with Famitsu, Haruhiro Tsujimoto stated that they aim for Street Fighter 6 to reach 10 million sales after Street Fighter 5 hit 7 million copies sold.

This interview was spotted by VGC:

“Street Fighter V has already sold over 7 million copies, so if we can make use of our digital sales experience, we should be able to aim for 10 million copies with the next game.

“That’s why we’re trying to do everything we couldn’t do before with Street Fighter 6 – that’s why we’re where we are today.”

With the ability to buy games digitally, Haruhiro says that influences the sales now which will help those numbers.

“Before digital versions became commonplace, most of our games were physical versions sold at stores, but due to shelf efficiency we could only ship as many copies as would sell in six months.

Street Fighter 6 will be releasing on June 2, 2023 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series XlS and PC.
