Corporate Microsoft Insists Xbox Meets 30% Margin Target, Report Reveals

Exploring the current Xbox landscape, many can not say there is a lot of optimism for the platform. Although Microsoft is adamant on the direction for its gaming division, the messaging remains very questionable about what it’s trying to achieve. Already, its current lineup of consoles are facing price increases for a second time this year.

Additionally, Xbox Game Pass is to also face new pricing; Ultimate now being $30 per month as well. Even the Xbox developer kits were hit with higher costs too which just further dampens the reputation of the platform. Despite all, Microsoft is still said to be working in-house on its next-generation machine as of recently. But, obstacles continue to stack up against the platform.

And recently, Microsoft is the next wall to keep Xbox from achieving success. According to a report from Bloomberg, it is revealed that Microsoft CFO Amy Hood has imposed 30 percent profit margins for Xbox to meet. Noted, this is a major feat that even PlayStation has trouble achieving, thanks @DeekeTweak.

But, there appears to be even more clarity as the decision for the new margin targets. Via @KoreaXboxnews, it is uncovered through previous 10-K filings by Activision Blizzard that Microsoft is likely aiming to restructure its margin goals thanks to the performance of its latest acquisition. From the operation margin report, it is revealed that both 2020 as well as 2021 both exceeded 30 percent at 35% & 37.9% respectively.

However, there is another problem at hand thanks to decisions from Microsoft. The inclusion of some major releases from Activision Blizzard has resulted in major gross fallout for Xbox.
