Discover everything you need to know about getting all bird pets in Crimson Desert, including how to find Sotdae of Bond.

Recent updates to Crimson Desert added bird companions as a brand-new pet type. They weren’t in the earlier versions of the game, but are now part of the pet system. They include small birds (sparrows, crows) and even large (eagles, phoenixes). Birds are not combat companions, but they loot corpses automatically and perch on your arm. You must first complete the Authorized Access portion of the Trembling Woods quest to unlock Florindale, letting you gain a bird feeder. Place the Sotdae of Bond filled with food items in different areas to get all bird pets in Crimson Desert.

How To Get the Sotdae of Bond in Crimson Desert

Now that we have the birds apart from the foot animals, let’s find out how to tame them. The Sotdae of Bond is a special companion tool in Crimson Desert that works like a bird feeder used to tame bird pets. This is not a weapon or armor, but a utility item.

Get the Sotdae of Bond

Its purpose is to attract birds and build trust with them. Once a bird’s Trust reaches 100, you can register it as a pet. The game now requires you to lure them in and befriend them rather than chasing bids. Sotdae of Bond cannot be crafted or purchased, but unlocked through a quest.

Make sure to progress through Pororin Forest Guardians faction questline and complete the Authorized Access section of the Trembling Woods quest. Fishing this mission lets you get access to Florindale (southeast of Hernand Highlands). Completing it lets you gain Sotdae of Bond as a reward or place it in your inventory or camp storage.

Tip: If you already did the quest, check your camp chest – most players find it there instead of their main inventory.

How To Get All Bird Pets

Once you get your hands on the Sotdae of Bond, it’s time to get the bird pets and use them to your advantage. The process is always the same to get any bird pet in Crimson Desert. Below are all the steps you must follow to tame any bird.

Placing Sotdae of Bond

  • Place the Sotdae of Bond on the ground using the designated buttons.
  • Load it with food like meat, fish, insects, oats, and seeds.
  • Wait for birds to land and let them reach 100 Trust.
  • Press Take In to make the bird your pet.

Birds will not come if you’re too far away, so prefer staying nearby and still. Different foods attract different birds, and different locations spawn different species. A small movement can scare the birds, so avoid moving.

Tame the Birds

Some birds require multiple feed cycles to hit 100 Trust. Once the birds are tamed, they perch on your arm when idle. Bird pets behave like dogs or cats. They automatically pick up items from defeated enemies and nearby drops. Collect loot on the ground around corpses and do it automatically without player input. They don’t fight enemies and use gear or abilities. This lets you keep moving instead of stopping to loot, making grinding smoother.

Bird Pets & Locations

You can find Sparrow Crow, Blue Jay, and Parrot in the starting area, making it the best farming spot for multiple birds in the early game. Seagull and Crow spawn in Demeniss Port or Riverbanks, so place Sotdae near water and use fish, meat, or insects. Eagle and Sparrowhawk can be located in mountain regions, and they prefer meat or fish.

Bird Pets & Locations

Phoenix and Desert are available in the Crimson Desert region south of Trader’s Expanse, but they’re rarer spawns. Pigeons are located in Trader’s Expanse and prefer plant-type foods like seeds and fruits. The best tactic is to fill Sotdae with all food types at once to maximize spawn chances across species.

Bird Where To Find
Legendary Phoenix South of the Trader’s Expanse
Crow Rooftops in Hernand
Seagull Found in coastal areas
White Pegions Trader encampment
Blue Jay Located in lush forests or jungles
Parrot Found in Jungles
Sparrowhawk Top of Silver Wolf Mountain or cliffs near the abyss cresset
Sparrow Across the Pywel, near the bird feeder

Best Tips & Tricks To Get Bird Pets

Below are the best tips & tricks to get birds pets in Crimson Desert.

Tips & Tricks To Get Bird Pets

  • Prefer moving the feeder to a new area completely changes what spawns; different birds spawn in different regions.
  • Always use multiple food types to maximize spawn chances and save time.
  • Stay nearby but don’t move much because the birds get scared and fly away.
  • Cliffs are the best locations to farm the bird pets due to the high spawn rate.
  • Begin with smaller birds like Sparrow or Crow to learn the mechanics. After that, go for the Eagle and other rare birds.
  • Let the bird finish eating fully before approaching, and don’t interrupt the process.
  • Relocate instead of waiting too long because bird types are directly tied to the region and environment.
  • Keep Sotdae in your inventory when hunting the birds. Make sure to match food to target birds like meat for Eagles, Seeds for small birds, and Insects for Desert Birds.

Hi, I’m Ali. I started gaming with Max Payne, and it set the tone for my interest in darker, more immersive experiences. I mostly play soulslikes, RPGs, and FPS titles that focus on tight mechanics and pacing.

I have a strong appreciation for game soundtracks and how they shape the overall experience. I’m also a long-time horror fan, across both games and films, with a preference for atmosphere-driven storytelling. This space reflects that passion, exploring games through both their mechanics and the atmosphere they create.
