This week, both Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 officially released and more is still unwrapping as for what the next-generation machines can bring to the table. In that, Bungie presses on the enhancements for the continuously ongoing Destiny 2. Previously, the developer pushed that the upgrades for the new consoles are expected to drop in the second week of December.

The Washington studio pushed out details revealing Destiny 2 will bring cross-platform play between console generations of the respected console family alongside better loading times on November 10. But the meat of these upgrades will not come until next month which offers players 4K resolution support alongside HDR and 60 frames per second performance. But that is not everything coming to Destiny 2 on new systems.

As part of the Xbox Series X|S Launch Celebration livestream this week, Bungie CEO Pete Parsons shared with Xbox head Phil Spencer to viewers that Destiny 2 will offer 120 frames per second support for Crucible matchmaking. You can watch the segment in the video below:

As part of the reveal for Destiny 2: Beyond Light earlier on, Bungie also announced that players will not be left behind for current-generation systems. In that, the game will support cross-buy and you can bring your game with you to the newest machinery when the time comes. The same can also be said for cross-progression as well for Destiny 2 players.

For Xbox players – those of the Xbox Game Pass/Ultimate party – you might also notice that Destiny 2: Beyond Light is playable now. The game alongside other Xbox Game Pass addition for this month including Gears Tactics and Tetris Effect: Connected is available to play right now if subscribed to the video game streaming service.
