From Software’s Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice is about a month and a half away from its official launch date, in anticipation about what’s to come from the action adventure title, Game Informer spoke with the studio’s President on what makes the game standout from competing titles releasing around the same time.

When discussing the title, the videogame outlet asked From Software’s Hidetaka Miyazaki about the possibilities of seeing a Demon’s Souls remaster following Sekiro’s March release. In response to the spontaneous question, Miyazaki shows not to be in favor of the 2009 title returning.

It’s like when you write – when you’re younger, you look back on [previous work] and you think ‘Oh, goodness what was I thinking.’ It’s not that I’m embarrassed, I just don’t like to look at my previous works.

But he then adds on to his previous statement by telling the videogame magazine that he would be fine if another studio took on the project. “If it was a studio that really loved the original work and really put their heart and soul into realizing it again, then that’s something I would enjoy,” Understanding that there is still an surrounding audience that would love to see the game return for modern platforms; only if the right studio that shows the same excitement as the fans is when Miyazaki will approve a Demon’s Souls Remaster.

On top of the discussion that if the game would to happen also, it would solely be an PlayStation exclusive title as Miyazaki even states himself that “Sony would have to sign off on it as well.” Despite the upcoming game being marketed through Microsoft for the Xbox One X back in June at E3, it might not be the same if Demon’s Soul receives the full reworked title.

Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice is set to release on March 22, 2019 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.
