Dying Light: The Beast Receives New September 2025 Release Date

Back in 2022, Techland slowly reaching the ten-year anniversary for Dying Light officially shipped Dying Light 2: Beyond Human. In our review, Rectify Gaming scored it a 9.2/10. “In the end Dying Light 2 is a bigger and better game in every possible facet. The campaign is very good and has a lot of replay factor. I strongly believe they have a lot of potential to make another for years with their promise of content for years. Dying Light 2 great movement and deep story focus makes it a sequel worth losing a few nights of sleep over.”

Since then, Techland has been ramping up more for the greater universe. Announcing Dying Light: The Beast, the game explores the journey of its original protagonist Kyle Crane. Previously, the Polish developer confirmed that Dying Light: The Beast was to ship next month on August 22nd. Instead, the game is now aiming to launch later in 2025, it is revealed.

According to a new announcement from Techland, Dying Light: The Beast is now scheduled to release this September the following month for “extra polishing.” In the press release, Techland expresses “it has always been our goal to make Dying Light: The Beast the best Dying Light game we’ve ever released. To honor this promise, we’ve made the decision to move the release date.”

It continues in the press release: “We understand that this may be disappointing, but our experience has shown how important the first impression is. With just four additional weeks, we can address final details that make all the difference between good and great. Areas we want to improve include finetuning the balance of gameplay elements, looking into clarity of UI, increasing the quality of physics, as well as tweaking cutscenes and player animations further as well as adding last little details.”

Earlier this summer, Techland spoke more on where Dying Light: The Beast stands in the hierarchy of the current duology. And despite being frames as a standalone experience, franchise director Tymon Smektała stated “it really is Dying Light 3” in an interview with PC Gamer.
