disney extraction shooter

Epic Games recently announced it laid off 1,000 employees, sharing that it is part of a cost-saving effort. Today, a new report has come out from Bloomberg that Epic Games is working on multiple Disney games, including an extraction shooter.

The outlet shares that Epic has been developing with Disney since they agreed to invest $1.5 billion into the company. Apparently, Epic Games is still on track to release the first game from that announcement.

According to employees, the new game is an extraction shooter with Disney characters. Arc Raiders is used as a comparison to this project. It’s expected to be released this November. Bloomberg’s sources say that internally, the reviews have been concerning about the mechanics, as they are not original, while some are optimistic that the developer will get it right by the time it releases.

On top of this Disney extraction shooter, the partnership has at least two more games planned. These projects are still under development.

It will definitely be interesting to see how this new game pans out. Clearly, Epic Games had some bad luck with its new Fortnite game projects, such as Fortnite Ballistic, which will be shutting down later this year.

How do you feel about a Disney-themed extraction shooter?
