
While the continuous concern spawned from the novel coronavirus carries on to interrupt events and regular life activities in the real world, you would expect that the virtual ones online would be safe. Well actually no; it seems that even video games continues to be affected by the precautions taken to ensures everyone’s safety during these trying times.
In a recent letterhead shared by Bethesda on Twitter, the upcoming Wastelanders update scheduled to arrive to Fallout 76 next Tuesday has been pushed to the following week due to these provisionary measures.
“This has obviously changed the way we work, but rest assured that critical services for all our live games are fully operational,” the company reveals in the letterhead. “However, this has affected our ability to do the final testing we need for Wastelanders and we must move the release date a week […] we’ve done everything we can to minimize the delay and can’t wait for everyone to play.”
What this latest update scheduled to arrive next week is comprised of includes the long-awaited addition of NPCs to the game. Bethesda has stated previously that with the introduction of AI characters to the game, this update expansion will also be bringing a new story to paint over the initial campaign for Fallout 76. Even more, this update has been clarified to be an essential reboot of the original 2018 title.
Bethesda has shared that the original date for the Wastelanders update will now be arriving on April 14 instead of the initially scheduled April 4th arrival date.
