Ubisoft officially announced alongside Sony Interactive Entertainment that the 2012 open-world first-person shooter, Far Cry 3 Classic Edition, is getting a brand new update on PS5.
Far Cry 3 Classic Edition will be getting a free 60FPS update that will be available on January 21 on PlayStation 5 and PS5 Pro Consoles. Ubisoft released a trailer on top of the announcement showcasing Far Cry 3 in smooth fashion.
Players can get Far Cry 3 Classic Edition with Ubisoft+ Classics available as a standalone subscription, and it’s included for PlayStation Plus Premium and PlayStation Plus Extra members.
This wouldn’t be the first Far Cry to get an upgrade from Ubisoft in the last year. In May 2025, Far Cry 4 got a free 60 FPS update on Xbox Series and PlayStation 5. In other news, a Far Cry live-action television series is in the works with FX.
Ubisoft also announced that Far Cry: Blood Dragon and Far Cry Primal also got a free update running at 60FPS on PS5, PS5 Pro, and Xbox series.
