Earlier in May, developer id Software simultaneously addressed the current controversy regarding Doom Eternal’s composer Mick Gordon alongside sharing that a DLC story for the March-released demon shooter to be on its way. The studio tells to be saddened by the discovery of Gordon’s statements online and reveals that the downloadable content for the game will presume without his involvement in the soundtrack for the add-on.
Now in an abrupt tweet, the game’s official Twitter account shared a couple images of what to expect from the coming DLC. The two images share different vistas that both have been swallowed by the demonic plain with one in the underworld while the other looks to be an oilrig back on Earth’s surface.
Today as well, id Software also revealed that a new update will be shipping for the game in the coming future and mentions a Year One Pass regarding upcoming content for the game. “Beyond that update, we’re still making progress on DOOM Eternal’s Invasion mode and the first DLC expansion of the Year One Pass. Please look forward to more information on those later this year.”
Update 1 is shared to include a myriad of adjustments like the overall single player experience, additions to the online Battlemode, stronger demons, and the ability to add friends through Bethesda.net. The developer has yet to share when exactly the update nor the teased story add-on will be shipping to Doom Eternal.
In the meantime, you should go read Rectify Gaming’s full review for Doom Eternal; which you can read by heading here.
