While some will dispute 2015’s The Order 1886 as overhyped or lesser than anticipated, there is a cult following that will dismiss the claims and share their excitement for any grasp of a follow-up sequel if the day ever comes. As the developer Ready At Dawn already circled around that a second title isn’t completely exempt from becoming a reality, the title was initially expected to break into a series.
Now in a recent interview on The Gamerheads Podcast, the idea of a sequel has been thrown around as Sucker Punch Productions Writer Jordan Mychal Lemos initially stated to have heard of the studio making a sequel. “Everyone should play The Order: 1886. Especially since, I guess they’re making a sequel. I don’t know if it’s The Order 1887; the last I heard, yeah, they were actually doing a second one”.
However, word began to break out on the statement and some outlets began taking it as fact that the Irvine-based developer is developing the alleged sequel. Lemos shortly after the podcast made a statement denouncing his initial claim and clarified that he does not know anything regarding the follow-up title.
Before this gets any more out of hand, I know nothing about a sequel. These are the types of articles I read last year and I remembered reading 11 months later as there was one coming. Sorry to disappoint. pic.twitter.com/tVPKGzavOJ

Despite the traction that the Lemos picked up from just one statement, it is appreciated that he retracted what he said rather than leaving fans anticipated for something that might never happen. As already reported prior, the studio did plan ahead for more than one installment following the debuted title in 2015, but instead faced underwhelming reception and potentially abandoned making the IP into a franchise.
Would you be excited for a new title from Ready At Dawn as a The Order sequel?
The Order: 1886 is available exclusively on PlayStation 4.
