Forza Horizon 5 Generated Over $300 Million On PlayStation; Over 5 Million Units Sold

At release, Forza Horizon 5 instantly became a welcomed classic as the game was received with immense praise. Scored a 9.8/10, Rectify Gaming said that “Forza Horizon 5 is the best game in the franchise, and it also might be the perfect arcade racing game.” So, it was no surprise that the game would go on to be considered for a PlayStation 5 port under the new multiplatform effort at Xbox Game Studios. We saw this with Sea of Thieves and it was a proven hit already.

Following the game’s release, Forza Horizon 5 was already tracking extremely well on the PlayStation Store. In May, the game was already ranked the best selling release in both US & EU territories. Around the same time, roughly 2 million units were projected in sales on the new platform alone. And in July, Forza Horizon 5 was understood to be one of the most popular releases for 2025 as well on PlayStation 5.

Now in 2026, there has been a follow-up on the progress made by Forza Horizon 5. By Alinea Analytics, analyst Rhys Elliott via a post on X revealed that the game has been a cash cow for Xbox on the PlayStation Store. It was revealed that game has generated roughly $300 million; now up to five million sold copies.

The trajectory certainly is not a surprise. A year before Forza Horizon 5 even released on PlayStation 5, it was already facing major engagement. It was reported the title was already played by over 40 million players then. And, it is considered that number has only grown since then with the help of its popularity alongside the addition of PlayStation users too.
