The game adaptation for the cult-classic film Friday The 13th will be available for purchase later next month.
Originally Kickstarted under the name Summer Camp and later picked up the rights with Sean Cunningham making it Friday The 13th: The Game. Raising over $900,000 in its Kickstarter ($200,000 more than its expected goal of $700,000), the team at Illfonic went straight to making the game we we’ve always dreamed of playing. Following a few months after, Gun Media released some alpha footage of the game showing off some executions from Jason Voorhees. Then in late 2016 releasing a closed beta on PC to give the fans a taste of what’s to come when the game is completed.

As seen in the trailer, the game will be multiplayer only with the objective to avoid being murdered and escape the camp. There are different maps to play on as well as a variety of characters to choose from, all from the films the game is based on. You can set traps, find tools to aid your escape, and hide if it’s too late for anything else. And plenty of ways to hunt and kill the victims trying to escape as Jason Voorhees, it’s better to see rather than explain. Each side gets buffs but also get panelized depending on which one you choose.
Friday The 13th: The Game will be available May 26, 2017 for Xbox One, Playstation 4 and PC for $40.00.
