When it comes to how players grow interested in a beloved series, you cannot blame them when anticipating for an announcement to take place during an upcoming presentation. However, this does not really end well for fans hoping that Skate will be present at this year’s EA Play Live. Back in January, developer Full Circle was established to be the new dedicated team for the return to the Skate franchise.

More recently, Electronic Arts scheduled its EA Play Live 2021 to take place in late July. However, anticipated projects at the time were not clarified then. But, with reveals for titles such as Madden NFL 21, FIFA 21, and Battlefield 2042, it became very apparent on what will be present at the approaching showcase then.

But, Skate is not one of those games says Full Circle. In a new letterhead by the developer on the official Skate Twitter account, the game will be missing from the show this week. But, something for the game is to be spared prior to the Thursday show, the team reveals.

“Now, we know many of you were hoping to see more of us this week but we’re not ready for prime time just yet and won’t be part of the EA Play Live show this Thursday,” the message reads. “It’s still early and we are committed to doing this thing right which means it’s gonna take some time. […] HOWEVER, we are stoked to share a little something with you all tomorrow.”

Currently, it is unclear what is exactly prepared for the Monday tease. But, taken from the lack of preparation to present the next Skate game at EA Play Live, it is not likely to be gameplay. There is hope for at least a in-engine trailer or maybe even the cover art for the next game perhaps.

This week, Electronic Arts also confirmed more on what will not be attending EA Play Live 2021. In that, any plans for Star Wars reveals is not on the menu for this year’s show according to the publisher which was revealed in a similar manner as to the Sunday announcement. Are you excited for what Full Circle has planned for Skate so far?

EA Play Live is to take place on July 22, 2021.
