Gears of War 4 Microtransactions confirmed

UPDATE: The Gears of War 4 DLC will be free with new maps rotating in and out of operation. Their solution is to offer all maps as paid DLC for use in private matches. They also confirmed that there will be 10 multiplayer maps at launch.

A few moments ago the Coalition developer had revealed that the upcoming Gears of War 4 will include Micro transactions. It is confirmed that it would be in the form of cosmetic cases, which will offer different costumes and hats, etc of different varieties.

The developer did say that they don’t affect the game, so fans don’t have to worry about a ‘Pay to Win situation’. GoW 4 won’t be the first in the series to include in game purchases. GoW 3 had purchasable weapon skins, as well as GoW Ultimate Edition. Like Halo, you’ll be able to earn the stuff in game as well. 

Also be ready for the GoW beta coming in a few weeks and the game coming out in October. Microsoft also released another clip called ‘Unicorn-ing’ which showed a new feature of gameplay where you shove a knife into your enemies forehead.
