Although fans are excited for the upcoming Tango Gameworks title GhostWire: Tokyo, the game has yet to officially be scheduled for release. Being announced well before at E3 2019, ahead of the game’s publisher being acquired by Microsoft too, the wait time has been immensely long for excited fans to say the least. However, 2022 appears to be the year.
Originally, the game was expected to be released in 2021, but all that was given is the exclusivity for the release to PlayStation for one full year. Atop of that, the game went on to be listed for October that year by Sony Interactive Entertainment. Swiftly after the firm ironed out any hopes with an update to the listing according to the trailer. But, Tango Gameworks went on to press that spring 2022 is the new timeframe to keep open eyes for.
On Thursday, MP1st reported sightings of the game’s release date on the PlayStation Store. While it has been removed now, the outlet uploaded images revealing a release date for March 24th. You can view the image below:

“Tokyo is overrun by deadly supernatural forces, perpetrated by a dangerous occultist, causing Tokyo’s population to vanish in an instant. Ally with a powerful spectral entity on their quest for vengeance and master a powerful arsenal of abilities to unravel the dark truth behind the disappearance as you FACE THE UNKNOWN in Ghostwire: Tokyo,” the description reads for the game on the page listing provided by Sony.
Noted, while Microsoft is now the current owner of Tango Gameworks and the greater Bethesda, GhostWire: Tokyo is slated to be unique to PlayStation due to a contractual agreement with Sony Interactive Entertainment. Microsoft has commented to honor the agreement which is already ongoing for Arkane Lyon’s Deathloop as well. You can read the full report by heading here.
