Gjallarhorn, one of Destiny’s most renowned weapons may be about to make a comeback.
After dominating Destiny’s first year, Bungie decided to leave the overpowered rocket launcher behind when it upgraded to Year Two with The Taken King effectively ending its reign of terror. But Bungie, and in particular creative director of The Taken King Luke Smith, ensured they left the door open for its return by saying that “we’ve been pretty upfront about saying Gjallarhorn isn’t coming back this year.”
The reveal of the new upgraded Gjallarhorn, now called Iron Gjallarhorn and sporting a black colour scheme, was courtesy of an advert from Snapchat. This advert, which can be seen below, not only revealed Gjallarhorn’s return but seemed to further the speculation that the new weapon type of hammers will be available on September the 20th.

None of this is official so far however, but with a reveal stream scheduled for later today expect a lot of these questions to be answered then.
