In the year 2026, the entire world is keeping an eye on Grand Theft Auto 6. It’s not just fans who are anticipating its release in November, but other publishers and developers have been trying to plan around it.
According to Jason Schreier of Bloomberg, GTA 6 is “not content complete.” This comes from the Button Mash Podcast in the episode titled “Our Most Anticipated Video Games of 2026.”
Here is the quote from the podcast:
“This is a big and complicated game, and the last I heard, it was still not content complete. That is to say that people were still finishing things up, still finalizing levels and missions, and seeing what’s going to make it into the game.”
Jason goes on to say that he doesn’t think anyone could say to you with 100% certainty that Rockstar will make it out in November. But he does say, “I think this feels a little bit more real than fall 2025 did.”
It’s clear that Take-Two Interactive and Rockstar Games need to make GTA 6 as perfect as possible because the entire stock of Take-Two lives or dies on this game. They would rather let it slip again than release it when they feel the content isn’t finished.
As it stands, Grand Theft Auto 6 is set to release on November 19, 2026. This is the first time Rockstar Games provided a specific date for the game since its first trailer was released.
GTA 6 is planned to release on Xbox Series and PlayStation 5.
