Last October, Halo Studios made a major announcement for the Halo franchise by bringing the future of the series to Unreal Engine. They then gave us a behind-the-scenes look at Project Foundry, which gave us an idea of what the Halo universe could look like in the next title, including the Halo: CE version of Master Chief.
Today, in a blog related to the Halo World Championships that will be held this October, Halo Studios talked about rumors and speculation.
In the post, they state, “At this year’s HaloWC, we look forward to continuing the conversation,” regarding the new chapter for Halo.
Could We See Halo: Combat Evolved Remake?
A lot of speculation started to go around the internet after Phil Spencer mentioned during the Xbox Games Showcase that Fable, Forza, Gears of War, and a franchise that helped start it all will have new games in 2026. That will also celebrate 25 years of Xbox.
Other rumors have gone around indicating that Halo: Combat Evolved is going to see an entire remake in Unreal Engine 5 with a release on PS5, Xbox, and PC. Halo: The Master Chief Collection is also rumored to arrive on Switch 2 and PS5.
It seems that Halo Studios is starting to make their biggest announcement for news surrounding the series at its biggest esports events. The Halo World Championship takes place in Seattle, Washington, and tickets are on sale now.
