In the past few days, the official Mafia Twitter account has returned after being inactive for roughly two years only posting cryptic, one-worded tweets which instantly grew excitement for fans of the series. This instance looked to ensue the previous discovery of the Mafia II: Definitive Edition & Mafia III: Definitive Edition that surfaced on rating boards over in Taiwan.

So presumably, followers expected the announcement to be the two respected titles. However, it now looks there might be more to the story thanks to a new reveal made by Hanger 13 just moments ago. The developer shared a new trailer announcing Mafia: Trilogy, teasing the next project from the team.

You can view the teaser trailer in the video below:

Taken from the trailer, we get to see a well-refined Vito Scaletta and Lincoln Clay which is implies the new project is in fact a remaster of both titles. Although the latter Mafia III did ship back in 2016, some noise is now audible understanding that Hanger 13 is planning to ship the full trilogy of the series. This goes on to suggest we will see the return of 2002’s Mafia either remastered or potentially a remake for current hardware.

As for the lingering listings for the two Definitive Editions, it is understood that aside from the full bundle, players might have the choice to purchase each title individually is not deciding to acquire the full trilogy. Which is understandable since one game is still fairly new. Ultimately the collection will be a bargain buy for players who have yet to indulge in the near two decade-long span of the series.

Regarding what fans can expect later this Tuesday, it is possible followers will receive the full trailer for the game – as expected. However, as implications goes for the full trilogy, it’s appropriate to anticipate the first look at the original Mafia for ongoing console hardware later next week. Perhaps the team will also address the Nintendo Switch version for Mafia III since it was listed in South Korea.

Are you excited that the reveal is finally out of the bag?

Mafia: Trilogy is listed for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC via Steam & Epic Games Store.
