Developer IO Interactive have been hard at work with additional content for Hitman 2 since the titles release back in November of last year. And just kicking off the first major DLC through the Expansion Pass for the game, it has become apparent that the Danish studio is already planning ahead for the third in the rebooted series of Agent 47.
In a recent Noclip documentary on IO Interactive and the passage of the series since being reintroduced to the industry once again, the feature titled ‘The Fall & Rise of Hitman’ detailed that the developer has their crosshairs set on yet another title to follow the 8 month-old title. Not only that, but a new IP altogether is currently in the works at the studio as well.
While much of the team is working on new Hitman content, and looking ahead to a third Hitman game, one that Hakan [studio CEO] says may once-again go episodic, the majority of the studio at least here in Copenhagen is working on something secret, and rather excitingly, something new.
Depicted from the video that the developer is confident to be sharing that the IO Interactive is scheduled to have yet another Hitman game in the future, it is more interesting that the studio isn’t shy to share that a completely new title is also underway. However, the basis for the coming title is still on lockdown as nothing atop of the happenings for the game has been detailed.
Notably, this will be the second title that will be under the developer as the company just IOI Malmo in Sweden last month. Regarding that title from the newly birthed studio, the only information for the unannounced project is that the title will feature some elements of multiplayer as deprived from the developer’s job listings.
Are you excited for the new titles that IO Interactive is loading into their chamber for the coming future?
